| | The 2009 Taipei and Seoul trip was a whirlwind of food, sights, new friends, and lots of walking! The weather was humid, windy, and lovely at times.
First off, we stayed in a 3 bedroom apartment off of Minquan E. Rd. It was within 3 minutes walking distance of the MRT and very convenient... like every other place in Taipei. I adore tropical fruit and its pretty much the only fruit I'll eat. Luckily, Taipei has loads of it so we usually enjoyed some for breakfast. Chiang Kai Shek Memorial with My and JC. Taiwanese food is delicious... Tasty tofu and pork blood. The sauce was ... hard to explain but very fragrant. Eslite sells some interesting designer items that are quite eccentric. You can't really find it at a typical mainstream store. This speaker is neat because it looks sleek and classic but you pretty much can hook it up to your ipod. They have 2 holes where you stick your earphones into and then it amplifies out from the speaker. A cool gift idea. Its a KNIFE mirror and GUN comb set. Taiwan breakfasts are better than any other breakfasts out there. Enjoying some xiao long bao, dan bing, and sao bing you tiao! At Jiu Fen we enjoyed taro balls and traditional tea tasting. Yea... I'd like to have that. MOS HAMBURGER!! Rice bun, pork, burger heaven. A really cool jewelry tree in the Shida area. A little lion pup. A taste of things to come? Ma la huo guo!!! HOT POT spicy style at MK. One of the coolest things about this Taipei trip was a charismatic funny guy we met named Jerry. He showed us Taipei 101, gave us tips on where to check out and introduced us to his cute local friends while karaoking. Good times! Yang Ming mountain and cala lily beauty. My uncle's new place in Ilan. The night view was serene and can be enjoyed from the hot spring bathtub and balcony. And most importantly, they have Hello Kitty mahjong set. Haha... Ahhhh, potstickers. More breakfast food. :P Afternoon siesta break? YUM I saw this puppy at Shihlin night market and got kind of attached. Poor lonely sleepy puppy. I wanted to take it home. Our last eve in Taipei was spent eating shabu shabu and karaoking til the crack of dawn!
GOODBYE Taipei! Haha, local Jerry is so cute...look at him surrounded by girls. PLAYAS! :)
